1917 Springfield--HELP!
Looking for scope mounts and rings. Any one know where to look first?
And does the rifle need to be drilled and taped ,if so than the gun smith can get all this?
Hurry up and wait.

Weaver and several other make bases for the Springfield, but they require the gun to be drilled and tapped. I'me sure there are probably some of the "no gunsmithing required" bases out there, but I don't know about the quality. Are you talking about a Springfield or a 1917 Enfield? Either way there are bases out there.

Whether you have a Springfield or a 1914/1917 Enfield you can certainly have it drilled, tapped and scope mounted, and of course, your gunsmith can do all of this for you.
You might also check out the B-Square Enfield mount. It can be viewed at the link below.

I'm not sure if any drilling and tapping are needed. I think it may just be a replacement for a rear sight spot that already has a drilled and tapped hole present, but I'm not sure. You might try calling their customer service dept.
Good luck.
