Default coon gun

i was thinking of getting a 10/22 stainless/syntheic and putting a carbon fiber barrel and a red dot scope on it for coons.
what do ya think of this setup?
any other suggestions?

it would be sweet, just that if were just a coon gun...that the barrel is a bit over kill.

Hurry up and wait.

Sounds really nice, but I used to go coon hunting a lot, and we never used more than a .22 I don't know if that is irregular or what, but always seemed to do the job. I would spend my money on dogs, and save on the gun, but if you got extra cash to blow then go for it.

sorry meant to say never took more than a single shot .22 for the coon, and a pistol for anything else that came along.

i always dend to do things on an overkill basis. i was just thinking that the carbon fiber barrel would cut down on weight.

if you think that is an overkill on the barrel, i bet that you would like to know that i don't even coon hunt. my girlfriend's dad wants me to go with him cause he is a big coon hunter.

i've been hunting for about 9 years and have been on one real coon hunt and that was last year with the girlfreind's dad. didn't even see a coon.
