coon gun

i was thinking of getting a 10/22 stainless/syntheic and putting a carbon fiber barrel and a red dot scope on it for coons.
what do ya think of this setup?
any other suggestions?

sounds sweet...but i duno about the barrel either if its going to be a coon gun...ours always got beat up hitting limbs we didnt see and such...we had an old lever action and used it so we wernt beating a new nice rifle that was worth alot...

Sounds really nice, but I used to go coon hunting a lot, and we never used more than a .22 I don't know if that is irregular or what, but always seemed to do the job. I would spend my money on dogs, and save on the gun, but if you got extra cash to blow then go for it.

i always dend to do things on an overkill basis. i was just thinking that the carbon fiber barrel would cut down on weight.
if you think that is an overkill on the barrel, i bet that you would like to know that i don't even coon hunt. my girlfriend's dad wants me to go with him cause he is a big coon hunter.
i've been hunting for about 9 years and have been on one real coon hunt and that was last year with the girlfreind's dad. didn't even see a coon.
