Depends on what you plan on doing with the gun. What do you want to do with the gun?

BuckWow - you seem new to shooting. This is a question that no one can really answer. "Guns" is a realtive term. Are you talking rifles, shotguns, muzzleloaders, or the various types of handguns. Like any other tool, 'guns' come in different actions and chamberings for different purposes. Will this be used for hunting? If so, what will you hunt? Or will it be used for target practice or self defense. Your size can also dictate what 'gun' you should select.
you are going to have to narrow this down so the readers in here can give you some sound advice from experience as well as personal preference.

I think that is a fair question.

I had never shot a 270 until last year. WOW that is a great gun.

When I shoot my 44 mag Smith 629 revolver - WOW what a great gun.

I shot an anelope with my buddies 308 Rem Auto - WOW what a great gun.

When I shoot my Ruger 300 WM - Why did I buy that thing?

When I shoot my 22-250 - WOW what a little cannon.

That's a good question to remind me of the great guns I have shot.

definatly the mossberg 500 shoots a 12 gauge sabbot with the rifled barrel bigger than a 50 cal can change the barrel to a 12 gauge with any size choke or a 50cal inline muzzleloader or a 20 gauge or a 410 and the price is under 500 dollers

Hee hee.

So, in Africa aren't we the bait? And size is a relative thing there. Leave the worries behind and take a .375 Holland and Holland. Small enough to carry, shoots flat enough to get out there, & can argue with the "slightly larger" quarry. And if money is no object, what the hey, get a double rifle! Hmm. What does a safari cost nowadays, $40,000?
