Go with the 270, it is a flat shooting rifle. You also don't have to worry about alot of recoil and thereare plenty of ammo choices out there.

Buy a remington. Good prices and made in the USA. Not to mention the best accuracy around. Sub-MOA

Thanks for your help, by the way firstshot i already have the 7600 in 30-06 and im not thinking about changing due to the fact it dropped my first deer in its tracks at 120 yrd last year... i just jumbed the gun on the caliber and was wondering if i could have made a better choice....

.260 and 7mm-08 have become very popular.

At 150 yards or less, my 243 will kill'm just as dead as any caliber mentioned. Get what ever strikes your fancy. If you flinch stay away from the big guns.

No way in the world you can go wrong with a 30-06!!! I used to havea Browning BAR in 30-06 that was a tack driver. Wish I'd never sold it!

I really like my Mountain LSS though and will never get rid of it, but I'm intrigued by the 7600 pump with the free floated barrel and the option of a quick follow-up shot. Guess I got spoiled by the BAR...LOL Anyway, there may be a 7600 in35 Whelen in my future.....or maybeone in7mm-08???

What kind of accuracy are you getting with your 7600 0ught6?

Just a little joust to get 2 of my favorite folks on here a little tickled :D I am anxiously awaiting my first "swede" James. Im gonna have some serious fun with that thing. I used the 270 for a long time for deer and have absolutely zero complaints but after several shoulder grinding mt biking crashes I am into the "female" guns when it comes to recoil :DI moved to that 7-08 and it was perfect for what I was looking for....nearly equal ballistics and just a touch less recoil.
