Have a ruger mk 11 with the 10 inch bull barrel, dont think its a target model tho...but it shoots great, better then my 22. rifles.

Thanks for the replies. I have narrowed it down to the Ruger Mark II Competition Target or the 7" S & W Semi-Auto. I've been around them both and they both will shoot. I'm leaning toward the Smith. I am just not fond of the cleaning "ritual" that goes along with the Ruger. I still have a while to decide...Now I gotta decide on a scope. LOL

Follow the directions in the manual and after 2 or 3 times, you'll wonder what people were talking about when they say the Ruger is hard to take apart and assemble. I've owned the Ruger Competition for almost 6 years and have probably shot over 10,000 rounds through it and have never had a problem. Shoots Great!
