I have a Browning 7mm Rem Mag A-Bolt Hunter. I need a new scope for hunting and for a new gun club with a 300 yard range. I'm looking at the Simmons Aetec 2.8x10-44 or the Burris Fullfield II 3X9-40. Both are around 200. I can't decide which one. Can anyone provide any data. Thanks in advance.

Of the two scopes you listed, I would definately go for the Burris. This link has all the info you need to know about the scope. http://www.burrisoptics.com/fullfield.html If I were in your shoes, I'd spend the extra bit of money to get a Leupold VXII, but that is stricly my personal opinion.

Depending on the area you live in, used Leupold VX- II's run around $200 or less, and have a great warranty. Check the used counters at the gun shops. Gun shows usually yield a bargain also. Just an old Leupy fan.......

Between the two you've listed , I'd opt for the Burris Fullfield II. I'm not a Simmons fan and I have a Fullfield II in 4.5-14x40 that's a nice scope. At the risk of complicating matters, there's also the Nikon Buckmasters series of scopes around the $200 mark. I actually prefer Leupold or Nikon scopes to Burris or Simmons, but that's just my two cents.

Simmons seems to be having some problems with QC on their new lineup of scopes. I would go with the Burris Fullfield II over it and maybe spend a few bucks more and buy a Nikon Monarch and be done with it

I like the Monarch also but it is a little out of my price range. I decided and just ordered a Burris Fullfield II 3-9X40 bal.plex scope w/free binos. I feel it was a good deal @ 198.95. Thanks for the input.
