the best is the best and it's not relevant how old the guy is.....It's the 260 Remington and if one just finds it packaged in a Remington M-7 CDL it's about as good as it gets.....for kids 14 to 84...makes little difference.

I'm 50, and my "Go to" rifle is a 6.5x55SE. That being said, 7mm-08 or 260 are also great choices. Depends on what ammo is easily available out there. Don't overlook the .308 either as the recoil is not that far off the 7mm-08. In guns, the Tikka Lite is nice in 7mm-08, or 6.5X55SE. The Browning BLR 81 Lightweight is great for the .308, and I think it also comes in 7mm-08. You pretty much have to go to Remingtonfor the .260.
