Default New hunter--which gun for me?

Hi All~
Just finished my first upland hunting season in IL and now I'm hooked. I am trying to decide which gun I should purchase to handle the game that I want to hunt: upland, turkey and waterfowl. I am trying to decide between a Browning Citori O/U or the Benelli Super Black Eagle II. Any thoughts?

After shooting a Beneli SBE2, I have to vote for it. That is one sweet shooting shotgun!

For sure the Benelli super black eagle II over the citori.... But I prefer the browning Gold and A-5.

First of all, it cracks me up when someone gives specific brands/models of guns they are interested in and others chime in with something totaly different.

Merovingian, welcome to theHuntingNet forums. Both are great choices but are 2 different animals. They both will do the job but will balance and handle differently. I dont know what Citori you are interested in but the Benelli can handle 3 1/2" loads while some Citori's will not. The autoloader will for the most part will have less felt recoil. I would suggest that you go out and try both of these if you have not already. A shotgun should fit you well. Since you admit to being new to the shooting sports I suggest that you go to a localskeet and trap club and askfor some help, most are glad to help, specially getting a gun to fit and possibly help you with eye dominance.

In the end it will come down to personal preference.

Thanks doubleA. I didn't even think about hitting a skeet and trap club to get their input / fitting. Works for golf, should work for guns too.
