Iver Johnson 50th Anniversary 1941-1991 M1 Carbine
#1
I know someone who has one of these M1 Carbines that Iver Johnson made to commemorate the m1. It is the 50th anniversary model. It has a medallion in the walnut stock as well as stamped on the receiver signifying its the anniversary model. It is innew condition. Does anyone know what it is worth. I can get it for $300.00 and maybe alot of ammo to go with it. Im notlooking for something to collect but something to use. Any info will help.

Put it this way: the cheapest carbine I've seen in the last 5 years was an IAI reproduction and it cost $400. All of the GI carbines I've seen in the same period of time have been in the $500-800+ range.
Iver johnsons are reproduction carbines, but not necessarily made to GI specifications. If the rifle functions well, its worth the $300.

I will caution that the M1 carbine will fire without the bolt fully locked down. I sold one off because of that. Too much brass coming back into my shooting glasses.

Thanks for your help, but doyou mean all m1 carbines will fire without the bolt being closed or just the Iver Johnson. By what Ive read the Iver Johnson can use military parts, its the universal m1s that cant.
