I'm planning on buying a new shotgun to use for turkey and duck hunting. I turkey hunt a lot more than duck hunt so I would say it would be used 80% for turkey hunting and 20% for duck hunting. My question is can I get away with buying a "turkey hunting" shotgun with a 24" barrel and change chokes when I duck hunt or would I be better off buying a shotgun with a 26" barrel? I have heard people say that longer barrels are better forduck hunting. I'm not planning on going with a 28" barrel (just to let you know). Is there that much difference in 2" in barrel length?

From my understanding and experience, chokes are much more important than barrel length. My "all around" shotgun is a Benelli Super 90 with a 21" barrel. I have hunted with it for 11 years and killed everything from deer and hogs to ducks, doves, and quail. Barrel length seems to be a personal preference. I have friends that like the longer sight plane of the 26 and 28 inchers, but for me, that is too much barrel.
