Default Hard Kickers

I'm taking I kid I know out shooting and, because I'm ornery, I'm looking for a really hard kicking shotshell for a 12ga 3". The kid thinks he's "all that" if you get my drift, I just wanna give him a good kick in the shoulder.

Can't beat a nice 2oz turkey load 3". But I think 1oz sluggers 3" kicks are sharper.

There are some real specialty things on the market that push the envelope with pressure from dixie slugs.

Have him shoot 3" slugs in a pump.Fully load the gunand have him shoot it one after another as fast as he can, he'll know what I'm talking about. He'll problebly never shoot it like that again.... I didn't.

I have shot a lot of slugs and turkey loads from my 12 ga and I think full power turkey loads kick the worst. Even my 600 grn brenneke gold magnums don't kick as hard as my winchester turkey loads.

I personally don't think you should do it though. I get a bit upset when people do this because it may ruin someone from shooting, or at least make it very difficult fix flinching and trigger panic problems. However I only weigh around 130 lbs I don't have any trouble shooting these kinds of guns.

That being said if you really want to mess the kid up give him a real light gun like a H&R 12 ga with full power loads. They kick like a mule because of the light weight. Or a 30-06 with a scope, that is a pretty humbling experience if you are not expecting it. Of course you may blind the kid though.

I also agree with the others, if you can find a 3.5 inch 870 or or something that will for sure get his attention. I thought I wanted one until I shot a buddy's. I handed it back to him and thanked him for saving me some money. A bit too much gun for my tastes. I shot it hunting once though and it wasn't that bad really. Rifles never seem to kick as bad in the field.

I agree with the Turkey loads. I shot high brass Federal 3" 2's this weekend in my Savage o-u, granted it doesnt have a recoil pad but my shoulder is still a little stiff.
