Default Bore Snake

Anyone had any luck with the bore snake. I used one and then got home
and cleaned with rod and patch and got out a ton of gunk. How do you guys use this snake and are you successful with it?

I carry one while hunting along with a little powder solvent. I still use a rod and jag at the bench.

I use my Bore Snakes for a quick clean at the range but always use my cleaning rod , jag and patches for a good cleaning at home...

Never used the boresnake but I could see where they would come in handy. I carry a Rapid Rod. Its a cleaning rod in several pieces connected by a length of cable. Anyone who goes out hunting should carry some kind of cleaning device. Nothing can stop a hunt quicker than a slip and accidently jamming your muzzle into the ground and filling it with all sorts of grime like mud dirt grass leaves etc. Carrying a compact cleaning rod has you back in business in 5 mins.
