Anyone ever have that odd gun/load combo that shot far better than it should have?

I bought a sporter weight M70 in 1985 or so, .300 winnie.
It was my second center fire, first was a Savage 110 in .30/06. Anyway, I got to thinking about one of the most accurate load in the M70....it was a Speer 130 grain HP which I loaded up for some prairie dogs. It wasn't asaccurate as my 178 grain match bullets....but it sure was interesting to see dime sized groups.

Yes. I had a Savage O/U 30-30 over 12 Ga. with 125 grain Ballistic tips it would shoot one inch groups @ 200 yards. A very unusual combo to shoot that well. I even shot a few 3/4 inch 200 yard groups.(three shots).
