New Savage 116FLSS
#1
My Savage finally came in last week. I figured it was finally time I got a 30-06 to fill the gap in my arsenal. I mounted my nickel finish Burris Fullfield II on it and took it out to the range just to break in the barrel and at the same time get rid of some old Norma factory ammo (for the brass) and to get the scope close. It was darn cold and windy but after shooting one shot, cleaning, adjusting scope, repeating again and again then firing 3 shots cleaning and repeating again and again the rifle stillmanaged about 1.5 MOA with my last 3 - 3 shot groups. I can't wait til the weather breaks and I get to shoot some different handloads through it. I suspect that like my other Savages, this one is going to be another shooter and with the right combo should be around 1".

I just got the 12FVSS in 270 WSM. The shooting weather in North Dakota has not been good either. Lots of wind and a cold snap has really taken the fun out of going to the range.
Savage rifles have set the standard for out of the box accuracy. I don't think they have a written guarentee like some but its harder to find a Savage that does not shoot well that finding one that does. I expect that this new one will easy shoot sub one inch groups. Mine tips the scales at 8.75 lbs without optics so I don't think recoil will be an issue even in the 270 WSM

Bronko22000, I bought mine at Pistols Plus in Osage Beach MO. Mine is model # 111FCXP3. .270 w/ scope and synthetic stock. Mine does not have the Accu-trigger and I bought it new about 2-3 weeks ago.

Feed it some sierra's and it'll most likely beat 1moa. I don't believe their is any rifle ,production or custom that will reliably compete with a savageat the bench. At least within 2000.00 of the price. Who said that I said that. Yep I know I'm a smart a-- !
