Savage .22/410 over/under
Many years ago my grandmother gave me a Savage .22/410 (model 17 i think) over under single shot that had belonged to my grandpa before he died. The .22 barrel was on top and the 410 on the bottom with a break action to load the ammo. It had a smallbutton on the side where you selected which barrel you wanted to use. Well, it was stolen from my dad's house some years later and I'd now like to replace it. I have looked at gun shows and can't seem to find any for sale.
Anyone have any ideas where I can get my hands on another one?
Thanks for any help.
Craig

NDH, I have the 24S model. It's basically the same gun, the firing selector on mine, is on the hammer though.
Neither one is in production any more, so keep looking for a used one, good luck!

Gun shows are a good source, as well as some of the newspaper gun mags, such as Gun List. I too, had one years ago, in fact it was the first gun I ever hunted with. 22 on top, 410 under, with the selecter button on the side. The last time I saw one at a show, I think it carried a $250 pricetag. They used to be plentiful, but seem to be getting scarce, as collectors are gathering them up. Good Luck----------

I'm not sure about where to find one, but I have one now that was my grandpa's and it is by far the sweetest gun for squirrel's that you could ever have. It's probably the favorite gun in my family's collection!!!! Good luck finding one.

If you want one of the older model 24's good luck finding one. Just a few days ago I finally got al the parts together to reassemble the one that my grandfather gave me some years back. She is now working great again. Just gotta reblue it now.
However, Savage still makes the model 24F.
You can get it in .22lr, 22 hornet, .223, or 17 hmr over 20ga. Or it's offered with 22 hornet, .223, 30-30, or 17 hmr over a 12ga.

Thanks guys. I think I was mistaken by saying a model 17 and it must be a model 24. I have found several on the site suggested by swampdog (thanks for that), but they are pretty pricey at over $500.00. I'll keep looking.
Appreciate the help.

I have been looking for one too but they are hard to come by. I did see one at a gun show in Little Rock last year but it was in very poor condition and they were asking $300. More than I was willing to pay for the condition of the gun. Good Luck.
