I am purchasing an Encore 209X50 muzzleloader (black composite/stainless steel)for my son and I plan on buying a rifle barrel with it that will mainly be used for coyotes.
I understand that I have to buy a new forend for the rifle barrel as the muzzleloader forearm will not fit. In my search I ran across one that is called a "quick release" forend. Is this better than the "normal" one? What are the advantages vs a regular forend?
Are there any "tricks" that eliminate pressure points to helps out one's accuracy or is that even an option with this gun?
What brand ofbases and rings would you recommend for a scope (probably a Nikon) for the muzzleloader and rifle?
Anything else I should look for that would make the combo more enjoyable to use?
Thanks for your help....

What I had to do, was to have my forarm for my 204 pillar bedded and fitted to the barrel. Also my hinge pin was loose so I put a .001" over in it and had the barrel and reciever hole milled to match.
Bad news it might not work on another barrel perfectly.

Wow, maybe this one gun, multiple barrel thing with TC is over rated???

I have one of the NEF Ultra Varmiter rifles and I also have an Encore pistol in .260 Remington. The Encore is a far superior firearm. Surely tou can't expect a forearm that fits a muzzleloader or a shotgun barrel to fit a tapered rife barrel.[:-]
Anyway, I love my NEF, but I'll take an Encore any day over it. It is 100 times more versatile.

NEFs are ok. But you pay for what you get. There is no comparison between the two. Buy the Encore, you'll never look back. I have the same gun you are looking at topped by a Niken 4.5 X 14. It is an awesome bp gun. Most everyone that I hunt w/ has either bought one or wants one.
Prices for new barrels and stocks are ok for what you get.
