RE: Ruger 6.5x55
I have owned a few Rugers over the years and I liked them all, I have owned a few 6.5X55 sweeds as well and have taken most things around here from rabbits to scrub bulls with ease. I always wanted a Ruger in the sweed but for some reason I ended up with a 260rem in a model seven instead, but you can have great conference in your choice and I’m sure it will serve you well.

From what I've heard, the 6.5x55 Swede is used by moose hunters all through Scandanavia. It's all about bullet placement . . .
Hey, 260, I'm looking to get one of those this year.

I had the same gun in 260 as well. You will learn to love it. The 6.5x55 kills like a lion but kicks like a lamb. Its a true big game rifle that is fun to take to the range.

I have had great success on scrub bulls with the 6.5 Sweed about a dozen all between 700-1000kg (about 1500-2200lbs) and they were most impressed with the little Sweed with only 3 I think from memory that even required a second shot.
I would like to get a Top end Buffalo with the 260rem and the new 160gr Woodleigh protracted point projectiles but most people around here think I’m nuts for wanting to go after big game with so small a round.
