Default 10-22 Magnum

I was looking at one of these the other day. The Ruger 10-22 Magnum. Has anyone owned one of these and how did the shoot and function?

I had one of the new style ones with dual extracters and it worked great. I never had any problems with it at all and accuracy was around 1.5" for 5 shots at 100 yards. I used it for night predator calling when I lived in michigan. I shot lots of fox and a few coyotes with it and an untold number of feral cats. It was a great little rifle.

Don't know about the Ruger,But seems like a long time ago somebody said that the .22 mag was pretty much inherently inaccurate.I guess that's the reason I never bought one.I would like to have a good dead eye dick 22. mag bolt .

I have never heard a complaint about their accuracy as a cartridge. I had a 640 K Chuckster that was a tack driver. That was a mossberg Bolt gun. My father in law bought it from me and now one of his kids has it.

Thanks for the reply's

James B sez: "I had a 640 K Chuckster that was a tack driver. That was a mossberg Bolt gun."

I too havea 640 "Chuckster" in .22 mag. it is a model KA though. Long barrel. Long story behind how I got it. But I refinished the stock in natural linseed oil.

It sure is pretty.

I have wanted one for a few years now as well. Randy Anderson has one all tricked out in his Verminator video I believe. Ever since I saw that gun with the scope mounted camera I have thought about them. Monday I was in town and at the local gunshop and they had 2 of 'em on the rack.......Very Very Tempting.....

Do you go into to SoDak to look at guns? What gun shops are in your area? I was in to So Dak last week and saw the 22 Mags. Thats what got me thinking about them again.
