Default .17 Hornady

Anyone try it out yet??? I cannot wait to try it. I REALLY hope that Ruger chambers it in the 10/22. I read an article that says it is capable of i/2 inch groups at 100 yards. Should make a dandy varmit thumper.

I also am looking forward to seeing and shooting it. I kind of think it will be offered in bolt action rifles but I coud be wrong. It would make a great beaver gun if the bullets are constructed for it. (do not destroy pelts)
Corey 006, did I see a pic of you and your buck in Big Buck Mag. recent issue?

Duffy,
No that wasn't my buck.

The .17 HMR has a polymer tipped V-Max bullet. The muzzle velocity is 2550 fps and has a flat trajectory out to 200 yards(ALL OF THIS WITH NO RECOIL!!!!).

Apparently it will be chambered in a couple of Marlin rifles this year as well as the Ruger 77/22(with the rotary magazine).

I know what I am saving my pennies for. <img src=icon_smile_big.gif border=0 align=middle> <img src=icon_smile_big.gif border=0 align=middle> <img src=icon_smile_big.gif border=0 align=middle> <img src=icon_smile_big.gif border=0 align=middle> <img src=icon_smile_big.gif border=0 align=middle> <img src=icon_smile_big.gif border=0 align=middle>

It's a rimfire. Souped up pellet gun. For the sake of everyone that buys a rifle chambered for it, I hope it catches on. At least with a centerfire you can reload.

If you want a 17, go with the .17Remington centerfire.
