Default Remington Stocks I have a big problem????

hey guys i have a question i have a remington 700 adl and when i extended my harris bipod the front screw ripped right out of the wood i took it to my gun smith and it was a 30 dollar fix. Well Today the same thing happened to my dads remington 700 bdl and i have to again pay 30 bucks to have it fixed anyone had trouble with this???? thanx

Are you refering to the action screw or the swivel stud? If the swivel stud is the problem you can easily repair that yourself. Get some two part epoxy and glue the sucker in. If it's the front action screw I don't have a clue. Sounds a little bizzare to me, I can't imagine the swivel stud coming out. I have two Harris pods and never had a problem like that. It might be the way you are mounting the bipods that's causing the problem, just an uneducated guess.

If the front swivel eyelet just screws into the forrend , that is poor design and quality. In that case get a Uncle Mikes Swivel set and mount the round nut that comes with it in a counterbored hole on the barrel channel side and you'll be good to go. Sounds pretty peculiar to have 2 of them with the same problem.
