Default Well, I decided and bought a Tikka

Hey guys. Thanks to all the answers to my posts and questions. I finally went to the gun shop a bought myself a Tikka T-3 Lite Stainless in 30-06. I'm planning on mounting a Leupold VX-III 3.5-10X40mm on it as soon as I get the chance. Anyways, just wanted to let you guys know.

I'm sure you will be happy with the rifle. I'm looking at a Tikka for my next purchase.

I like your choice of rifle, but I would rather have the 3x9x40 conquest.

You made a wise choice on the rifle.....very wise, however, your coice of scope is .....well for me, puzzling. Did you consider the Zeiss Conquest? Leupold hasn't done anything innovative in 20 years....they rest on their laurels while the other manufactures pass them by......then they say oh gosh......someone came out with a BP reticle.....lets make a Boone and Crockett and jack the price up. I would reconsider your choice of scope to complement your fine rifle......it would be wise to investigate the Zeiss Conquest and Nikon Buckmaster. Both of these scopes beat out the Leupold in dim light tests we conducted last summer. Same warranty......better performance. Regards, Rick.

I agree with 48thguns. The Leupold, although a fine scope may not be the best available, especially for value. Nikon scopes are better in each price category. Their premium scope to compete with the Leupold VXIII would be the Monarch. A step up from that is their Titanium model. Buckmasters is under the Monarch, and the Pro-Staff is below that. All are among the best in their class.

Very good choice. No better gun available in this pricegroup.

Great package, although I also would have gone with a 3x9 Conquest.
