scope for 22 cal.

wondering what brand and power scope would be reccomended for a 22 caliber rifle. used mainly for plinking and shooting at the range. the rifle is a 77/22 ruger. thans for the information.

Depends on how much money you want to spend. On the low side, bushnell makes some good .22 cal rimfire scope. On the very very low side you can get a tasco(which is what I have on my squirrel gun.

On the high side you have nikon, leupold, etc...

Kahles American Hunter 2-7 power. About $450. I also like the 2-7x28 weaver. Made in Japan with good optics and should be around $110 bucks.
If you want a cheaper one, Simmons, Tasco and Bushnell al make rimfire scopes. Airgun scopes work fine to.

Bushnell makes a really nice fixed power 4X for about $40. I have a couple, and have been quite happy with them.

Weaver makes a classic rimfire 2-7x32... A really nice compact good looking scope... It goes for the $125 range. I have one on my CZ and really enjoy it.
