Default remington 22

I have a remington 22 that the accuracy has dropped in. It's bore is good and I don't think that stock is rubbing anywhere. The bolt to my knowledge has never been cleaned. I know that can cause reliability issues but could it also cause accuracy problems.

Does the barrel need cleaning?
Have the sights loosened?
Have the action screws loosened?

I have cleaned the barrel and it is not pitted or anything. The sites are tight and the action screws are also tight.

Before I could shot groups between 1/2 and 3/4 inches at 75 yards now I am lucky to get a three inch group at 50 yards. I have considered that I could have started a bad habit but I have no trouble with any other rifle.

I may have got the model wrong my rifle is bolt action.

It kinda happened suddenly not a gradual change, if that would give any ideas.

1/2 to 3/4 inches at 75 yards. I assume you are using a scope.
You could try another scope

Sure cleaning the bolt wont hurt but i dont believe thats the issue. i would say you need to get some lapping compound and and a good cleaning kit and see if that doesnt help. clean the bore with the cleaning kit first then try using the lapping compound then clean it again. i would almost guarantee thatthis will fix it.If not see if a local gun dealer has a air guage to test the rifling and the bore. Also what brand of ammo are you using.

I will have to try that soons as I get the chance. I use federal ammunition which has always worked for me good before.
