Default 22-250,.223, 25-06?

Which of these three is the best caliber for coyote/deer hunting? I'm more concerned about ability to kill than preserving pelts. Thanks for any input.
One more thing, I'mnot sure if the 22-250 or .223 are legal for deer hunting in MO so if anybody knows that would be helpful info also. Thanks again.

Not only is it the best choice of the three given, but the 25-06 is as good a deer cartridge as any available. It provides plenty of power to kill any deer yet recoil is milder than most other suitable deer cartridges.

With deer as part of your list the 25.06 is the only choice of the three. Will the other two kill a deer - yes - but only under the best conditions. The 25.06 is by far the most powerfull of your choices. Also the 25.06 offers bullets designed for deer sized game.

Best Wishes

while the 223 and 22-50 will kill a deer, they are more in the varmint category. while the 25-06 is more of a deer rifle. So there is no comparo. 25-06.
While the .243, .257, .250, 6mm, 25-06, and 7mm-08 would be in the same category, you couldnt go wrong with anyone of these as a deer getter.

The .250 and the .223 are both legal for deer in Mo. but the best one that you mentioned for deerwould be the 25-06.

.25-06!!! Great deer cartridge. Also, it is considered nearly perfect for pronghorn antelope hunting.
