as long as you have the correct rings, sure it will work. As far as sighting it in, I have both my 7mm Rem's sighted in at 1" high @ 100 yrds. Using a 140 gr bullet that gives you dead on at 200 yrds and 3-4 " low at 300. Hope this helps

I must ask as to what velocity your guns are producing with that 140gr bullet and what the ballistic coefficient is for that 140gr bullet.I am not one to put blind faith in trajectory calculations, but using the 140gr ballistic tip,the calculations require a muzzle velocity of 3550fps to 3700fps to be only 3" to 4" low at 300 yardswith a sight in of 1" high at 100 yards.Using a muzzle velocity of 3200fps the calculation shows a sight in of 1.2" high at 100 yards will produce a 200 yard zero and will be 5.7" low at 300 yards.

The scope will work if that is all you have. I would save my money and buy a better scope as soon as I could. The 8 point isn't known for being much of a scope. As for sight I would be about 1.5" high at 100 yards. You will be about zero at 200 and around 5-7" low at 300 yards.

I have to agree with Superpig, the Eight Point may work, but the question is for how long? One came on my Model 70 SuperShadow, and could not zero with the provided mounts. I actually broke one of the adjustment turrets attempting to raise the point of aim just a bit higher than it was.... Wound up replacing with a Burris Fullfield II in 3x9. (Midway has the matte version on sale for $179.99 for the plex reticle, and $194.99 for the ballistic plex version) I also opted for Leupold STD bases and rings. Most of us should probably spend more for our scopes than we do. A buddy of mine swears that he would rather have a $1000 scope on a $100 rifle than vice versa. He may have something, but I do believe that you can get a servicable scope in the $200 range, and a very nice one if you are willing to up the ante to $400 or so.
