Default Using Bismuth Shotgun Loads

I've decided to make the jump to using all non-tox so I don't have to worry about what load for what area. I have been looking at the options but have a question about the Bismuth. It says they are "safe for use in nitro-proofed barrells". What is a nitro-proofed barrel and what guns would you expect to find them on?

it pretty much means it is safe for any gun made for smokeless powder, like stubble said. they are great loads, but they're rather expensive. ($32 for twenty 28ga loads)

I wouldnt bother with the bis muth just use good steel. bismuth is really expensize and honestly with my own experiences i get way better penetration and knockdown power with steel.
