Has anybody had the barrel pinned to the receiver on their slug gun? ..What does it involve ? I have a older deerslayer that came with a smooth barrel then I upgraded it to a Ithica riffled barrel and it shoots all over . It is getting better but the cap that holds the barrel in place comes loose and throws it off so if it is pinned it will be one less thing to worry about ..Thanks Bill

The process can be done, although I don't know anyone who has experience doing it with an Ithaca.
Randy Fritz, the owner of Tar Hunt uses the process when converting his remington 870's . I believe there may even be some use of lock-tite in the process.
My question is why spend the money?
I would just buy a new dedicated slug gun.

I am not a big slug gun fan so If I can get this to shoot good I will not need another. It has been dedicated to a slug gun only for about 15 yrs when I had it drilled and tapped. I will try locktighting the barrel to the receiver and also the locking cap and see how that works ..Thanks Bill

Well I locktited it all together and shot it with no difference, then swaped scopes still no better, even tried other brand slugs.. Nothing .. So now I am looking for a slug gun .. Anybody know of any good deals on 11-87 Cantilever's .. The best price I have found is $535 .. Thanks Bill
