I have a Ruger Mark II in .257 Roberts andI really love this gun for hunting Pa whitetails however the stock (walnut)forend moves? If Ihold the forend and place my thumb on the barrel andpush with my thumb the stock moves orshifts with a noticable woodcreak/pop. Is this normal?I have checked all the screws and everything istight, the barrel is tight to the receiver. The gun shoots fine, I've hunted it the last 4 years andit has put the bullet where I aim but this stock thing bothers me. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

Yes i've seen this before, and if your rifle shoots well i'd leave it alone and not worry about it at all.
Most rifles with forend tip pressure on the bbl do the same thing, very common.
