RE: Is this Walmart gun any good fellows??
I have to agree, I don't think companys like Rem and Win. can afford to run 2nd hand guns specially for Wallyworld. If it's junk, nobody is going to care where it came from, they are just going to remember what kind of gun it is and they won't buy another one. I don't think they'd take that kind of risk. They are cheaper simply because of buying in bulk. (At least that's myopinion, I'm no sales guy)
I don't have a problem withit, but I have yet to buy one from there. If I buy a gun from Wallyworld, nobody is really going benefit. That companyis so freakin big no one will even notice I bought one. BUT at the local gun store where I live, they will benefit from me buying one gun there. I think that if we keep buying from Wallyworld then eventually the local gun shops will be a thing of the past and then where will we go for personal service? Also have you tried to buy some premium ammo or reloading supplies from Wallyworld? They don't carry anything like that and I don't have a Gander or Cabela's or Bass Pro even close to me, so I'll keep buying from the little local gun store to keep him around. But I won't kid myself, if I can save $100 on a gun at Wal-Mart, it would be hard to pass that up! |
RE: Is this Walmart gun any good fellows??
The whole "Wally world/second hand guns" crap was started back in the late 80s when Remington first came up with the "Express" series of shotguns for Walmart exclusively. They weren't any different metal wise and the stocks were plain ol cheap wood and they were cheaply parkerized vs an expensive camo dip or other quality flat finish method, but not seconds just not prime Walnut. Remington would build the runs of guns after they had already tooled up and built a normal cycle of guns for everyone else. The guns might've "felt" a lil looser and made a lil more noise when you cycled em. But they weren't any weaker or anything like that. That only lasted about 1 MAYBE 2 seasons. They were so much cheaper than the regular WingMaster and SPS versions that dealers soon cried foul and demanded the same guns for price competitiveness. Remington conceded and started building them for ALL their customers.
That was the last time they "purposefully built" anything that was cheaper for a particular customer. If you were Wallyworld and could write a check for a 50,000 special guns then any gun maker around would likewise oblige you with your own type or grade. I know Ruger built a special series of rifles for the large distributor "Big Rock" whereby they offered 270,30/06 and 300Mags in target gray metal with a gray laminated stock. That wasn't something offered in the regular catalog. We sold a couple of them as we were customers of Big Rock. But for BPS to make that claim against Wallyworld? LMAO that's like Hyundai accusing Kia of being cheap car makers!!! :D RA |

75% of the shoppers at Walmart are females. In order to increase the amount of males spending money at Walmart they lower the prices of certain products that men buy. Guns are one of those items. So when a male goes into Walmart and purchases a firearm at cost they also purchase ammo, doritos, soda, and a DVD player.Walmart makes its $. Economics and marketing at its finest. Sad to say its a business world where the almighty dollar is King.

I am lucky on this as my buddy has a gun shop and will usually beat Wally's prices on everything for me. Ol drinking buds can come in pretty handy...lol.

Here in Maine, NIB 7600s run between $525 and $550 for the wood stocked version.
