Depends, If you want to shoot 3 1/2 inch shells.
The only differences between the two is the SBEII will accept 3 1/2 shells and has a drilled receiver for mounting a scope. If you don't think you'll ever shoot 3 1/2 shells save $200-$300 and buy the M2.

I just bought an SBE II with comfortech last month and it is an awesome gun. I only shoot 3.5" shells for geese anymore and I ordered a slug barrel for it too. I figure I might as well take advantage of the recoil reduction. I would ever buy another 3" chamber 12ga for waterfowl or turkey.
