Just looked at the chart schoolboy posted and they state that the 375 h&h has about 10 fp less recoil than a full bore 12 gauge 3 1/2 mag .

What about those guys who hunt grizzly and cape buffalo with a bow or muzzleloader? They have a guide and tracker backing them up with a 458 or 470 nitro mag. and sometimes they don't do the job. You watch you're hunting heroes out in the brush with a bow stalking a cape buffalo standing all alone. No guide in his right mind will leave a client hanging with a freaking bow or muzzleloader without plenty of big stuff to back them up. Oh, and I forgot one thing. You put a kill shot on a grizz at 40 yards and he is not ready to cash in just yet and decides to take you out before he dies. Now you have 8 or 9 feet of pissed of bear headed at you at full bore. You think you're going to reload and place another well places shot in less then 10 seconds? You better make it a good one as you fill up your Fruit Of The Looms

Have experience with 375HH.
Interesting discussion.
One size fits all with interchangable barrels onto a standard platform, eh....
the 375HH may challenge the outer edges of the envelope on that a bit, IMO....
however, if that is what you want go for it....
BTW, perhaps Cabelas sells chin straps for your hunting cap.

yeah good point. just because you can do some things doesn't mean you should. if you saw the tred barta episode(sorry for bringing him up but it shows the situation) where he hunted grizzlies you'll see how guides do. as soon as he shot the guide got tred down on the ground at sat watching the bear with some big arse rifle and another guy with a big ole 12 ga. personally i wouldn't be one to go out and hunt with a single shot riflefor bears and such unless if was from a little bit away... 1-200 yards but that still isn't going to give you a heck of alotof time if he wants you.
