I use both and don't see all that much difference in them if everything is considered . IfI could only have one it would be the 243 Win though because of the availability of the ammo .I reload so thats not a problem but for some it could be . .

My favorite is the 6mm. And yes it's available from Remington, Ruger and probably a bunch of other manufacturers. I like the Remington VLS model with the heavy barrel shooting an 80 grain BTHP. I would rate the accuracy of the 6mm second to only the 22 LR. I originally purchased the rifle for varmints, but have also used it on Antelope. Outstanding caliber.

Efficiency. Shorter cases burn all the powder. The .308 case is inherently more accurate than most guns. .308, 7-08 .260 and .243 are all based on this case and are all very accurate out of the box.
The 6mm ppc is probably the most accurate gun in the world, it shoots a super short fat case.

if dont reload dont even consider the 6mm, there is no real difference in factory loads. If you reload, it does have some real tangible advantages, but only if you reload.

There is a reason the .308 was primarily used as sniper weapons, it isnt because it was a flat shooter because its not, it's because it was consistent at putting a bullet in the same place time after time, this comes from being efficient.
