RE: Ballistics for the 30-30
thanks for the advise, I use 170gr core lokt bullets, and I have a Nikon scope on it to. Usually my shots are well under 100 yards and i sight it for 50, but last season I missed a deer at 200 cuz it went low. So im thinkin i might as well sight it in at 100 if there isnt much rise in the bullet that way i know where to aim if that long shot happens again. It probably will because its a slope that gets all the sun in the afternoon and the deer usually go there to hangout and rest and there isnt much cover to get alot closer. Well thanks for the advise, hopefully the 170gr sighted at 100 yards will do the trick

Ive got an old 336 , love the gun . Its got a 1.5x5x32 on it , piece of junk tasco , but it has not given problems so Im leaveing it alone . Mine is sighted dead on for 100 yards , and I would not shoot past 150 with it . It has proven to be a reliabe , accurate gun for me . Ive taken quit a few hogs with it . It likes 150 grain winchesters .
