Default Benelli R1 VS Browning BAR Safari

What advantages or disadvantages does the new Benelli R1 have over the Browning BAR Safari as far as accuracy, reliability, durability, maintenence, and overall performance?

Both are quality firearms; I would base my choice on which feels better when shouldered. Good luck.

Thanks for the info guys. But I'm not really concerned about howthe R1looks or whetherthe fact that its"not made in America." I've read that alot but noone seems to be able to tell me which oneoutperforms the other. It could look like a Pinto for all I care, but as long as it handles like a Ferrari I'mjust fine with that. I realize that theirs only maybe a handful of huntersthat actually hunt with the R1. I was hoping to find someone whos actually owned and fired one to give me a better insight on this particular rifle. Considering Browning has been making quality rifles for a long time, and that this is Benellis first rifle model ever.

I have a 30-06 BAR and would not trade for anything. I can drive tacks at 200yds with it.

The Benelli is very intriguing to me. I would love to try one out in that 300WSM. I think that it would make an EXCELLENT elk/moose/big bear rifle. I have seen on TV where a little kid was firing the 30-06 Benelli and it looked like a 22 recoiling. That would be awesome!

Yea I saw that on OLN too. I think it had the Comfortech stock on it. I looked on the Benelli website and its seems it costs an extra $300 for that feature. Ialso noticedthe Safari BAR with the BOSS system also lowers recoil but doesn't cost nearly as much.I was thinking about going with the 270WSM since I live in Texas but the300WSM seems to be a good all around caliberI hear.

I have a 30-06 BAR and a 30-06 R-1. With the BAR I can shoot 1.5" groups at 100 yards. With the R-1 I can shoot less than 1" groups at 100 yards. The R-1 is balanced much better than the BAR and I like it so much better, than the BAR, I recently purchased a 300 mag in the r-1 as well. I think I am going to give the bar to my brother.
