nickel electrolysis, will it work on a blued action?
Hello everyone,
This may seem like a rather odd question, but if I have a blued action and perform nickel electrolysis on it, would it look like a stainless rifle, or a funky blued one? Also, would the barrel be done too, or is it just for the action? I'm tempted to perform it, but so far, have only seen it on stainless rifles. Thanks

you probably would want to remove the blueing. Ive never done this nickel electrolisis, but Im fairly sure youd remove the blueing, and I think it would also be pretty shiny, more like a chrome that a stainless. There are other alternitives, if you want the stainless "look". Ive used K&G gunkote from brownells and Lauer Custom Weaponry's Duracoat. Both are spray on/ bake on coatings, and are fairly simple to use. Youd also do the action and the barrel at the same time.
