I was walleye fishing on the detroit river this weekend and I got what looked like a sucker but it had about a 2" wide brown strip from its head to its tail. I was wondering if anyone knew what type of sucker this is?

How big was it? Some more details in size and shape would be more helpful.

It was only about 14" long. It looked like a White sucker with a 2" brown strip down each side. I don't have a picture. Thats all I can tell you.

No, it just looked like a white sucker with brown stipes.

Sounds like a young knotty head.
