RE: Carolina Or Texas Rig Worms

here are the weights that slayer is talking about there made by gambler/bang lure company (in florida), however i'm still not sure thats what a florida rig is, even though thats what the add says, the same as some people calling(ed) the carolina rig "the do nothing rig" and one of the first people to fish it was jack chancellor(sp) and thats what he called it (the do nothing rig), different geographic regions will call different tecniqhes different things, if i was in the boat with larry nixon i wouldn't tell him it wasn't a florida rig. as far as some of those seasoned veterans go, you can't take anything away from most of those guys, nixon, clunn, brauer, and so many others have earned thier respect, btw i have fished with and against some of the top pro's in the country, and it dosen't take long being around them to understand why they are where their at, and there are some real dum basses out on the tour also,

RE: Carolina Or Texas Rig Worms

Ok I am going to post the important parts of the article because it is too long to type out completely. This is the March 2005 issue of Florida Sportsman. This is the Sportsman's Seminars: Bass Fishing section. Name of the article is The Florida Worm Rig.

The Florida worm rig is one that utilizes parts of all of the above. And it goes by different names. Regardless of the name, it adds action to a soft plastic offering that can make it resemble an eel, a snake or just injured baitfish.

The secret to this rig is to slide the worm onto the hook so that you have a hump or twist in the body that will make the worm spin and rotate slighly in the water.

I believe that it's two different rigs with the same names.
