1Horn......yes you do as of Jan 1st 2002 regardless of if you are keeping fish or not.
And your best chance of being checked is NOW on the first few nice weekends of the year as there isn't much for the wardens to do.
Go get your license and don't forget your Trout STamp!

1Horn......I tried to send you a reply to your e-mail and it came back. Something wrong with yours.
Anyway heres a copy of it.........theres two ways to think about it........the #6 will be more fun fighting fish and fishing smaller flies to bluegills small bass or whatever. It will also do double duty as a trout rod, but FORGET salmon......it will handle small stream steelhead like that found in the Lake erie Tributaries
The #7-8 will be more suited to throwing larger flies and won't be as fun fighting fish........the higher line weight just makes it easier to reach the fish, and use big flies if necessary.......an #8 will also handle smaller salmon and steelhead in larger rivers.
DOn't expect a 12" bass to double over a #7......but it will be easier to cast.
If it were me and I was fishing strictly smaller streams and ponds I'd get a fast action 9' #6 but the 'Three Forks" is NOT fast action...it's actually pretty slow....or maybe I should clarify by saying that it doesn't have a ton of backbone for really booming casts.
It's a toss up......your looking for the best tool for the job and that varies from water to water and fish to fish so its tough to pick one rod......Let me put it to you this way........I have (2) #2's,(2) #3's (3) #4's (4) #5's (1) #6, (1) #7 (1)#8 and (1) #10 wts. for a total of 15 different rods and they all get used.
See what I mean about picking just ONE rod?........The #7 will do more for you but won't be as fun fighting smaller fish.
You'll have to decide.
anything else just ask

Lil'......I thought I was going to have to get a special clause written into my home owners insurance.
When my State Farm agent asked how much money value I had in "Sporting Goods".......I just chuckled and asked her for a calculator.<img src=icon_smile_big.gif border=0 align=middle>

lol, ic matt. my internet was diconnected for a little.
I already got a trout rod. I think i'm gonna go with the 7wgt becuase i will need to make some long casts and with goood sized poppers. The 7 will help if i get on a lake too. i probably will be doin a little bit more lake fishin this year so i can haul a boat now. just little lakes but i think the 7wgt will prove worthy. I do like the fight of the fish but i think the 7wgt should allow me to have fun while giving me the backbone of what i need. thanks for the advice guys.
