Hit some great fish today, with a hot bite in some cold temps!

Pictures to come...

Cold front moved through and dropped water temperatures nearly 15 degrees in many locations. This is a very good thing, as process were moving way to fast and spawning activity was already beginning to occur. No fish were spawning, but small males were finding territory and it was happening too soon.

Lucky for me, I have been very fortunate on days like this and was very excited to fish it today. I have found some methods that are incredibly effective post cold-front, when most think the fish are shut down. I even left the lure used to catch on of the fish to give a hint as to my method of fishing...

Fished for less than 2 hours today, and put around 10 in the boat. Here is a few I took pictures of. Big ole girl did not quite break the six pound mark.

Very nice! I see you are still in a jacket. What is the air temp there? It was 85 here today and high humidity. Hot!

For a week and a half previous we shatter record highs in the mid 80s for days on end.... Yesterday the high temperature was 37 degrees with snow in many areas! Today was a high of aroudn 45*.

Man, that sounds like Alabama weather. Only place I've known it to be 85 one day and 40 the next. Especially over the last few years. Really unpredictable weather. Worked out nice for you though!

Completely different bite today, even though it was a very similar type of day. This fish ran for the depths and had some train-weight behind him... Didn't stand a chance againt the braid.

Nice! I am amazed at how long those bass are. Bass are usually really fat down here in the South, and therefore weigh a lot, but aren't very long.

No kidding man, I've caught bass as long as 26", wish they would get some more girth. Certainly not complaining though!

Congrats on the bass.. We are still iced in but some our lakes should be ice free with-in a few days.. Our turkey season is approaching so I am scouting my hunting areas out right now.. As well as the fact our spawn normally runs around mid May until mid June.. So afternoon fishing will be in order then.. Also in a couple of weeks I will be giving my boat a run for landlocks.. The landlock fishing will be going into hi gear once the ice leaves..
