Tournament 4/10/10

Well. I had a tourney yesterday and pulled out a nice win. We caught about 30 fish, roughly half were keepers. Managed a ten and a half pound sack to win it, no one else had a full limit. No pics of the fish, I did however catch a 20 in. fish that weigh 2.37 lbs, yep, what should have been a nice solid 4 lb fish and she was all spawned out. The rest were all 16 to 18 in chunky fish. Put some cash in my wallet and I was a happy camper.

Shh.... dont let anyone know about the trick worm!! Haha jk, but yea it produced one of our keepers that day. Mostly senkos, flukes and trick worms. IM not really learning a lot of new stuff right now, I am just getting back into the rhythm of bass fishing and tournament fishing. It feels good to be back in my original type of fishing.

I know a few local fishermen that fish as a non boater for Bass Masters and they have gotten much better..they are learning tons..
Yep..I've gone back to the basics as well..I started out with 2 main baits and have [retty much gone back to those 2 main baits until I start producing fish again..

Fundamentals are key in a slump, go to what you know and you will get it back fast. The biggest thing I am re-learning is that this isnt just fun fishing, every bite has to be treated exactly the same because I can lose by 5 lbs or .05 lbs and one fish can make all of that up.

Amen oh buddy....went back to the good ole rubber worm and Rooster tail..
The only changes I made this year which has put good fish in the boat..is treat every bite like it's a 5 pounder instead of a 1 pounder..I set the hook harder but not crazy enlough to snap the line on a hook set..but every bite I visualize a 22 inch 5 pound fish and set the hook accordingly..it's been working when I get a hit..Also..7 of my 8 rods are back to mono..12 pound test.
Yep..back to the basics.
