What size and kinda boat
We have 2 boats. A small 2 person bass pond boat and a 12 V bottom. These work all right on small open lakes under 100 acres without wind. But once the waves kicks up these little boats don't work to good.
So this year I am shopping for another boat for larger bodies of waters and choppy water. We got a 25HP limit on alot of lakes here in PA also. What would be a good choice and would like it to be a 4 person boat also.
Thought about a pontoon, but uncertain of the fish ability in certain areas as getting bottomed out.

Dont know a whole lot about boats myself.( use to have one here- but sold it to my soninlaw cheap- as a favor , who then thought he didnt have to pay me for it - he then got rid of it without asking me if i wanted it back first also)
But a 14-16 footer deep v hull bottom maybe what ya may need.
( not sure how well those poontoon boats do in strong winds) But i always thought it be nice to just cruse in calm waters etc with one- maybe have a fishing hole in the middle of the deck)
Wind for sure can be a big problem here- at least a few ppl have died for exposure& drowning after getting fliped by the wind here.

I have to agree with Knightia on this one and go along with a 14 - 16 foot V bottom boat. It would depend on how big a lake you are planning on fishing however. I most likely would go with the 16 foot boat as it would give you more room to boot.
For as far as a pontoon boat goes they can be real hard to handle in the wind. I have been on them before and almost had one go over when the wind caught underneath it. That is not to mention trying to get it to hold steady..
Good Luck with what you decide..
