Here's my take on Power Pro..

I will never go higher then 20 pound..I try to conceal everything but the bait..

This year I was jig fishing. As soon as the jig hit the hydrilla a fish took it....decent pull set.pop went my line..The fish jumped to spit out the jig.It was maybe 3 pounds.[&o]I was using a medium heavy rod..The Bible says "Whatsoeve ye do ..do it heartedly as unto the Lord." So I ask my best friend..Jesus what to do..I felt I needed to go to a medium rod instead of changing line .The medium rod would absorb the hook set instead of the need of going to stronger line.That worked.No moremissed hook sets and my frog hooksets have increased 80%..My son Matt was impressed and had me pick him up an Ugly Stick medium rod as well.

Lately I've been feeling the urge to crankbait fish..Josh comfirmed what I felt in my spirit to do..cast to the shallow and reel deep.I've always done the opposite before...Tomorrow is my last day to report to school..We are simply cleaning up our rooms.No kids will be there.I ask my assistant principal what time I have to be there..she said 8:00AM. My fishing hole is 1 mile away..I'll be on the lake tomorrow at 5:45AM....and then arrive at the school at 7:40AM

so do you think 30lb power pro is sufficient for heavy weeds, underwater timber, stumps, etc? We have a alot of nasty underwater debris, just trying to make sure that i dont under-do it and wind up with a busted line when I hook into the "Big Felluh"

i think it might be 30lb test its light green
but the fish dont care, i went out fishing using a green tri-runner spinner and i caught or hooked a fish every cast

Yes I do...all of my big fish break offs have been on setting the hook.Once she's on..I'm good to go..Then it's using the rod and drag..and on a baitcastermy thumb..HOWEVER..if I don't use a PALOMAR knot..for some reason it snaps like 8 pound mono..

What knot do you use .

Braid...Palomar..Braid has no stretch and a sudden jolt can snap it..at least with 20 lb. test....YET I've pulled in two 10 foot plus gators..so once your hooked your ok..It's that sudden jolt.

Monofliament...Trilene knot/ Improved Clinch Knot.

I doubt power pro is the best braid out there now. Fireline braid is an 8 strand braid while power pro is a 4 strand braid. There's several other 8 strand braids like Ultracast. Those braids are recent, and most likely progress was made. I read somewhere there's even a 16 strand one.

Well, until I find one better I am stickin with power pro, I have all of my confidence in it and I believe it will do everything I need it too. Dont beleive new is always better.

Why not use a flourocarbon leader?

Well, I know it's far from being obsolete. Just saying that there's newer braids out there that should be better -- or at least smoother.
Btw, what about "you get what you pay for?"

I think Stren uses 6 strands in this one, but here's something they had to say:
