What is the benefit to braided line? I would think the fish can see it much better, but I could be wrong. As an all purpose line, would you chose braided over monofiliment or flourocarbon?

First and foremost Aaron,;)
I recieved your frogs today.Your money will be in the mail tomorrow with some hooks. Thanks partner.:)

Braid...In Florida..the vegetation is outrageous..but this is good..The fish grow big in the vegetation. One quick run with mono around the spinach and your line will snap.Braid is super strong and skinny..My 20 pound test is 6 pound diameter I do beleive. BUT whenever I can I use mono..On Rooster Tails, flukes and crankbaits..I use mono no matter what. When you fish the Horny Toad the fish don't see any line anyways..I've tried most of them..and Power Pro is seriously the best in my book..Guys who use it..use it to pull bass out of thick vegetation..It''s great for flipping and pitching when the bass is green and strong...and only 6 feet from the boat.[:-]

I did a study once on flourocarbon..Companies are still trying to produce a flourocarbon that doesn't spring off the spool..until they do..I won't touch the stuff. I like good ole Trileen XL 10 pound test. Some of the best flourocarbon is P Line.I haven't tried it.

Im in the process of fising up an older baitcaster reel, and I think I will prolly try out some braided line on it. The numbers referenced on the boxes are like 20, 30, 40, 50, 60, etc. How are those ratings comparable to regular monofilament? is a Braided line labled 20 the same strength as 20 lb test monofilament?

yes sir.you can't break it with your hands..but for some reason..you MUST use the Palomar Knot or it breaks..

It only has one flaw..after a couple of months the green line will begin to whitin..you can ignor it or touch the line up with hunter Green permenent marker. This is the only problem I've found..

I use the palomar knot (slightly different than recommended though) and the rapala knot exclusively, so I shouldnt have any issues. So you dont recommend using the rapala knot on braided line? If not, is there a similar knot because i prefer the action i get with that knot over most any other knot. Thanx for the info, glad you found your horny toads at that online store. They have a HUGE selction of lures/baits, haha.

I have used power pro one time. I think for the heavy cover I am fishing I will use 65 lb power pro . What do you think
