I found a meal of black crappie at Saddle Creek this morning..first one was near 13 inches..rest were small but i kept them for a meal..
I had 5 hits on rubber worms..2 bass got off..both were in the 2 pound range..One was fat ..could have been a female..Kind of early but in Florida I've seen them spawning as early as Jan.1st..

Got a winner..

Black Crappie

Saddle Creek is diffently slow but there are big ones..catch ratio about 1 per every 4 hours..[&o]I'm serious..

I started fishing around 7:15 AM..At 9 :30 I got a 12 1/2 incher...after that ..only 3 bass.

12:30PM ..Wind came up..20 MPH...no more fish..I headed toward the dock..12:45 PM..About 70 yds on this side of the dock I chucked my minnow beside some cat tails. Bobber disappeared..rod tip up..and old paper mouth fought kind of hard...I missed him with the net once..said a little prayer I thought OK here it is..this is the one I've been waiting for..2nd try with the net.and just as I got him in the boat the hook fell out.[:-]glad I netted him.

I quickly measured him and thought ..ok, Swampdog will have to get back on the water..12 more days sir..

Supposed to be 58 degrees here today chuck.Hooking up the boat in a few minutes............wish you could be here and go with me...........Alton

Work to do for me tomorrow, but I got monday off, and I hear that someone wentin my local lake and found a school that was full of 14 in. fish, all right about 2 pounds. If I dont get out Monday though I might as well get some shad darts ready and ship them down to florida. Good luck Chuck, great fish by the way.

I only got one 10 incher today..I have one more prospect lake for next Sat.I also heard it's full of slabs..We will see..There is no ramp so my neighbor is going to fish with me and help me get my boat in the lake.
