I'm going to try trolling with it this spring. Is it coated? Are knots tied by making a loop?

if ur talkin about leaders ya i do when turtle and catfishin....but i buy the ones that are already made with a snap at the bottom and a barrel swivel i think its called to tie your main line to...and the snap you snap a hook or lure onto...but you may be talking about the lead core leader that is coated...the ones i use are not they are just wire
