Nice fish Childers..you need to contact the leader of the tourny and get that Largemouth put on for the northern tourny list..I'm not sure if not having a date will effect you or not..also..there is a 9 pounder posted as well.

I didn't realize you were from GA..That puts you in first place for the south..You need to clarify that your fish is not a spotted but a largemouth.I think that is what the hold up is about..

I've only got 6 more days with students and I will be draggin ga worm in the deep trying to get a 10..Tomorrow I'm going out with shiners with one of my students..

yeah i would have caught the biggest freshwater fish of my life today. i had my BIG bobber out with a minnow under it around 18 inches deep. and i see my bobber freaking out, so i let the fish take some line and BAM!!! i set the hook. he was ripping my drag out, i thought my reel was gunna be fried or something. my rod was bent like crazy! after he has ripped about 75 feet of line off the reel, my line goes limp. i thought he turned around and had started heading back at me, so i tried to reel in as much line as i could and i see my bobber rise and then i realize the fish is gone!! i am still trying to figure out what went wrong. i am so so mad.

but man did that thing feel big. i mean this rod handles 15-17lb catfish no problem so this must have been a monster.

Could of been alot of different things..

SOme monsters here that I've caught that I thought were 10 pound bass or more turned out to be....

A. once a 5 pound striper...awesome fight

B. a 15 pound blue cat on a shiner..

c. a 13 pound blue cat on a Rooster tail..

and best one yet..last year I hooked a monster something with my Rooster Tail..Matt was a sleep in the boat..the bite was boring that day.[8D]I screamed "Matt , wake up!" as the fish pulled nearly all my line off..I was worried thatall my 10 pound Trilene was all goingto come off.After about 15 minutes of serious pulling the fish was hung up ..it appeared.I drove the boat about 75 yds and had my line tight now..about 8 feet straight down over the fish..I looked at my depth finder.[:-][:-][X(]OH MY! ..About a 10 foot gator was straight down.[&o]I quickly cut the line and drove off. Great fight though..

This fellow here was my most improved.3rd grade student.When I got him his academics and behavior was horrible..In May..he scored high on the state test and has been an angel all year..We boated 16 bass and I got permission from mom to post his picture..This 2 1/2 pounder gave Dustin a fight for 5 minutes.I kid you not.We boated 16 total..me 7 and him 9[&:].[:-]We lost some good ones.
