Default When to fish what

I have been thinking and i have decided that some or most of my problem besides being new to bass fishing, is that i don't really know what to fish and when to fish. And that being said i am guessing that what i am fishing is not being fished properly and that is limiting my catching ability. Anyhelp would be great

Well when deciding what to fish i really take 3 main things into consideration.

1:Time of year. At different times of years different food will be available such as winter, if your tossin a frog, it may work but not thinkin its gunna work as good as lets say a rapala or something to imitate the bait fish which is mostly their food that time of year. So get to know the body of water and what the fish are mainly eating that time of year and go from there.

2:Weather Conditions. Now when its kinda overcast or gloomy i tend to use the bright colors cause it helps the lure stand out more to the fish and when its sunny out i tend to stick with more natural colors cause the fish should beable to see it just fine but that leads me to my third thing.

3:Water Condition. Now if it is a murky area i will tend to use more bright colors to help it stand out more to the fish and if its more clear i tend to stick with more natural colors.

Now im not saying this is what you should stick too cause i know i dont cause sometimes on a sunny day they wont hit natural things and i throw something bright and shinny and they are all over it. Those are just my guidelines i tend to stick to, but im always trying new things cause yoou just never know what will work sometimes.Good Luck

on darker days i sometimes use bright lures but i still use darks like black and blue. but right after a rain or during the rain try out a buzzbait. winter use a rattle trap. summer and fall use frog. trickworm in the neon orange, black, white and many more are great colors in the summer

Lot od variables my friend,,,

Here are some things that don't matter what you throw out..they will keep their mouths' shut.

Cold Front

The down side of the full moon.

And here are some things that will produce a strike very easy.

When they are spawning..

The week before the full moon

And for the normal times..

Fish with confidence and faith..Have fun no matter what, Fishing i ssupposed to be relaxing.. When fish are breaking the surface..cast a Rooster Tail 10 feet beyond the action. Let your lure go down about 2 feet and wind that bait right through the school..Fish on

Question...You seemto be a little new at this sport. Do you know how to ues the pitching technique with a rubber worm?

I have grwon up fishing and diving in New Zealand, but this Bass fishing is a completely new style and type of fishing. I have lived in the states for about 5 years now and have been quiet a few times with friends, NowI have put my wife and Iin a postistion to buy a boat i did, the fist month or too were great, 2-3 lbrs regulary, now nothing and it is getting very disheartning and bad for the confidence. As to your question. I sorta know how. Bnut any advice would be great

wow new zealand, i have heard and seen pictures, it is a beautiful place, from what i have seen and heard, but i also heard there is a very dangerous river there, cannot remember the name of it right off, something about the current and the wind[&:], anyway back to your post. if i had to guess, i'd say that you experienced a good spring-time bite, and those places have dried up, the two things i can tell you about pickwick and wilson are, on pickwick you really need moving water, and wilson is deep and clear, most of the better strings of fish on wilson this time of year are caught at night or in deep water (20-25+) early try six mile creek and four mile creek, then star fishing the deeper water, on points, then on pickwick, when the water is moving fish the cuts around seven mile island, and at the mouth of coffe slough. if you get the chance to fish down river, try around koger island, and the shell mounds on the old river channel around nacthes trace bridge. but you'll really need moving water for the fish to act right (especially the smallies)..

BTW, be very, very careful around koger island, there are rocks 1 foot underwater as big as a truck on both end of the island
