Default ever been dissapointed in a purchase

So i brought a brand new boat about 2 months ago, i love it then as i was new to fishing and i thought it would do me a year or to while i got used to it, now 2 months later i love fishing, have all the rods a man could want, but a boat that is not really up to par. Dont get me wrong it is a good boat, just not what i would want now...

If you are referring to the boat in your avatar it looks perfectly adequate to me. Looks to be a nice boat. We as men are never happy with what toys we have. We always want the biggest and the best of everything.[8D] Be happy with what you have and be glad you have it.

I know what you mean there- like usbuying a place far from home to fish & check out other parts of the country more( and buying it sight unseen& relying on other ppls honesty etc)- gas price where slightly more then $1 a gal then( gas was $3.15 when i went to town today). plus a few other things that have came up etc..

Like tonight i was in a torny, and all of the spots i new of close to the ramp were we launched from i could not fish due to high winds and i could not keep my boat in place

Is it the type of boat- the hull design etc or some other factor that dosnt make it so good in the high winds?

Some lessons can be more expensive then others( like for us) to learn -but most things can be improved on or delt with somehow or other.

I would imagine new boats are like new cars( we no longer buy new autos( havent in many yrs anyways ))& there depreciation etc in most cases.

yea, sad to say i have bought on impulse before and then i'm like why did i do that i should have waited or done this or done that, the best indication i get from your post is that your a little unsure about your boat in rough weather, but i'll tell you something an old man told me once that is very true "in one minute of running, you'll run over more fish than you could catch in a lifetime", i remeber one time on wheeler lake i was coming from the back of a creek in my bass tracker and there were two men fishing in the flats in a brand new skeeter wrangler, they were amazed at the fish i had caught and all i could think about was that nice new boat they were in, and i thought to myself one of these days i'll have me one of those big fancy glass boats and fish like a pro, i have never caught fish in the newer boats i have owned like i did back then, primaraly because boats like that force you to fish, if i were you, put some tops out around the areas you'll be putting in at and fishing around, fish will come to them, be a little more selective about when and where you fish. but like goherd mentioned, i have fished out of a bunch of boats like in your avatar, one big plus, they'll go where the big boats won't

BTW, did you get a chance to fish any of the places i sent you the IM about....

Yes ....but as a Christain I think it may be God dealing with me. WE are supposed to be content with "Such things as we have." God has always given to me and blessed me with everything I need. I now have alot more money than I 've ever had and I really need to pray hard before spending.I will mention 3 purchases I made where I wished I hadn't .

2005 ...I was looking at guitars . I was just offered a position to play guitar in a good sized church. The music director told me he heard a faint echo in my guitar. So to please him I went out and bought a 1060.00 new guitar..I'm very dissatisfied with the action of that guitar. Also. I quit the church 5 weeks later. The guitar mostly sits in the case. I play my Martin instead.

2006 My wife said "Find a boat from the paper for 1000.00, you deserve it." Instead I bought a 4 HP Nisson for 1040.00. The dealer has been a trip. Everything from wanting to fist fight to puttign metal shavings in my tank.

2007 I have a Model 37 Ithica that patterns turkey shot nice at 30 yds. I kept hearing on here how well the 870 Remington 3 1/2 inch magnum does at 40 yds...so I bought one ...not one shot hit a 2 inch circle at 40,

Summary...be content with what ya got
"The grass is not greener on the other side."

sorry chuck i gotta laugh on that one, do you know who "ben Lee" was.

this is a picture of the late Ben lee with his daughter..

he was on of the most famous and respected turkey hunters around, i went to a seminar he was giving, and a guy asked ifhe needed to buy a new 3.5" turkey gun or even a 10 ga. well ben just scratched the back of his neck and ask the guy "how long have you been turkey huntin???" guy says a couple of years, Ben told him that he had killed more turkeys with a 12 ga. in 2 3/4" chamber with #6 shot than most people will ever see in their lives, he asked the guy "what are you shooting now???" guy says"remington 1100 3" chamber,"Ben just told him, "if you want the gun, go get it, do you need it??? nope"

next question

most times for me anyway, my wants is bigger than my needs[:-]human nature i guess

Amen Keith,
Live and learn..just like those new lures I bought..plain silly when I know deep down..a person will only fish with what he has confidence in...
for me...the good ole rubber worm

I have an old bow...everyone has told me to upgrade. I went to a bow shop 2 years agowhich is owned by a seriously advid bow hunter / bow shop owner,
He said ,"There is no needto upgrade , your bow is all the bow you need for any situation in Northe America." I was impressed...and still got it.

The only upgrade I made this year which was worth th emoney is to my 7 foot Team Diawa..that really is an awesome rod...light enough to pitch / flip all day...longer cast and great leverage when setting th ehook fishing plastics.
God bless,
C7

I'm tickled pink with my 10 footer. Lately I've been dreaming about a Bass Tracker..After oberving others with them I noticed a few things..

1. Because of tha tbig console space they can still only fish 2 boaters..like me.

2. They don't out fish me because their rig cost 20,00o more. Fact, they all know me in those lakes and ask me for advice.

Summary...I thank God for my 100.00 alumiweld 10 footjon boat.I can fish the local big lakes when the wind is down...all the 100s of local pits anytime or weather...and if my motor diesI can paddle backto shore. I can fix any leak with JB Weld. My 4 HP Nissan online tank has never ran out of gas... I can literaaly pick up the side of my trailor when changing a flat tire. Teh aluniweld is secure and does not shake..I can stand and pitch or flip in it. I've had over 650 pounds in it. It is amazenly stable and strong. She's a keeper. We were poor when I bought it. I was in Bible college and my wife wanted ot surprize me. When she told me to check out this 100.00 jon..I said <"Yeah right..gotta be a piece of junk." Wrong, some nice man said he paid 700.00 for it back in the 70s .He had a 15 HP on it. He had just upgraded. Man...I grabbed that steal of a deal before you could blink an eye.
I love my little jon.

Last week some big ole boys in a Tracker were laughing at me in my little boat. I went to another area...AS I passes by them I ask them how did they do..again making fun of my little boat they replied "We got 5 nice bluegills." I said ."You all did real good." As I secretly had 52 in my cooler. If they had been nice ot me I would have put them on fish...bu tinstead I gave them my farewells and Matt and I went home happy campers.
God bless,
C7
