Default RE: Minn Kota Trolling motors

Cant go wrong with Minnkota....just put a "Kota" "edge" 40lbs thrust Foot controlled bow mount on my 16ft polarcraft....havent used it much but it seems well built....no breakaway tho i still have an old transom mount Minnkota thats probably 20 years old and it runs good as new its got 28 lbs of thrust and is plenty for small lakes....your gonna want atleast 40lbs minimum thrust in case you get on a windy bank or need to hold the boat in current(im a bass fisherman so i hardly ever drop anchor...when i fish current usually i just position my boat into the current and use my trolling motor to slow down my drift.....if i was you id go bigger than 40 just in case...the only reason i didnt was because i couldnt pass up the price.
