If Dairy is a shore fisherman is fishing is very limited. If you are gator free I'd invest in a pair of waders and explore that lake...

If ya have a small boat..and want to catch a bass quick...drift a shiner in water between 4 to 6 feet of water...use one small slit shot to keep the shiner down .

If you are an artificail only man...choose one section of the lake or river and learn it well. I had to do this until I got a boat..
I would cast a rubber worm long and bump it back slow..take 2 steps to the left or right and cast again etc..you will be surprized how much ground you can cover. My wife and i use to fish that way while i was in college. We were poor and needed Mr. bass for our dinner. We always brought home a couple of bass that way. One day I watched as a smart fisherman pulled up in the cat tails and flipped. He QUICKLY put his limit of 10 bass in the boat.. I bought a jon which you have all seen for 100.00 and switched ot flipping real fast. But casting and taking 2 steps works. Eventually you will find a honey hole out there.

Dairy King I am about 45 minutes south of you and I have caught 10 bass the past 2 days and all of them have been on beds. Including a 5 and 4 pounder.

I have been throwing a watermelon colored tube bait and fishing it SLOW...it seems that if I am fishing it like I usually do then the fish are following it and only making quick little nabs at the bait.

I shouldn't have said post spawn, but the 5 pounder I caught was already spawned out.
